Spring is a natural moment for a reset. It’s also the season one of Australia’s best-known wellness brands has chosen for a fresh start of its own.
After 10 years, Swiish will officially become Ziish. The name is changing, but the sisters behind it are staying, and so is everything else. Founders Sally Obermeder and Maha Corbett, the team, the formulations and the much-loved product range all carry over.
To understand why that matters, it helps to go back to the beginning, because this business started with a phone call between sisters.
Maha Corbett remembers the moment. Her sister Sally rang with a great idea: why not start something together? They had always wanted to work with each other, Sally has said, but their paths had simply never crossed. In late 2012, they finally did, and Swiish was born.
The sister who kept her day job (and her laptop under the desk)
When Swiish launched, Maha was deep in a corporate career. She had spent years in senior human resources roles in investment banking, working with executives at J.P. Morgan, Bankers Trust and ANZ, and she had a psychology degree from Macquarie University to go with it. Starting a business meant doing it on the side.
She has laughed about what that looked like: laptop open at her desk, hunched over, quietly working on Swiish and hoping no one walked past. The sisters were 50/50 partners from day one, each putting in half the money to get the site built. Eventually the pull of building something of her own, and a growing passion for wellness, won out. She left banking behind and later studied health and nutrition.
The sister who wasn’t sure she’d get the ending
Sally’s path was a different kind of winding. She spent years working in finance before moving into television, and she went on to become a familiar face on Australian screens, from Sydney Weekender and Today Tonight to The Daily Edition. Her memoir, Never Stop Believing, covers growing up, breaking into commercial TV, years of IVF, and a cancer diagnosis.
That diagnosis came in October 2011, right when she had become a mum for the first time after a long road to get there. She started chemotherapy once her daughter was born. She was given the all-clear in October 2012. Around then she also launched Swiish, with a blog about fashion, beauty, health, home and family.
She has spoken about a second chapter in motherhood too: her second daughter, Elyssa, arrived in late 2016 through surrogacy. It’s a reminder that the woman behind a wellness brand is rarely living a tidy, filtered story.
Green smoothies and a very Sydney kind of success
The sisters’ wellness message began with food. Their first book, Super Green Smoothies, started life as an e-book in 2014, became a paperback the following year, and has sold more than 130,000 copies. Four more cookbooks followed: The Good Life, Simple & Lean, Super Easy and Dinner’s Done.
Along the way, the two of them adopted the green smoothie lifestyle themselves and loved the results. The books built a community, and in late 2016 that community became a product range. It started with Supergreens, and the sisters have described the goal ever since as creating quality formulas for real people’s lives.
Two sisters, very honest about it
Ask them about working together and you won’t get a polished answer. Sally has joked that they bicker a lot, and that the hardest part is when Maha doesn’t sign off on her ideas. Maha says Sally’s expectations can be unrealistic, but she praises her sister’s vision, drive, humour and kindness in the same breath. They say the best part is sharing big milestones, like a book signing that Sally called “so special”.
That mix of honesty and affection seems to run through everything they do. It’s there in their belief that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated, and it’s there in their podcast, Wellness Unlocked, which launched in 2025 and tackles topics like hormone health and biohacking in plain language.
So, what actually changes?
Only the name. If you have a Swiish product in your cupboard, it’s the same product under a new label, made by the same team to the same formulas. The range you already know stays on the shelf, including Supergreens, NAD+ Booster and Liquid Creatine. Body Tone, the brand’s biggest launch to date, is now in its fifth production run since arriving in May.
